Tonight's Project

Well, I have finally decided what to do with the two skeins of Briggs and Little that I dyed with the Marigolds and Calendulas. After much thought and a vote at the Knitting Goddesses Guild meeting last week, I am going to overdye them with onion skins and see what happens. The original colour was a golden colour with almost a tinge of green. As you know, I usually like this colour but I'm not so sure about this shade. Something keeps stopping me from actually knitting with it. So tonight is the night. The onions skins are simmering and the skeins are soaking. I'm hoping for more of a brown than a yellow. Stay tuned until tomorrow. Either way, good or bad, I'll post a picture.

Slow Knitting Week

This was to be my week to knit all day, every day for a whole week. So far that hasn't happened. It is now Wed. and I have only felt well enough to knit a couple of times. I managed to finish knitting a slipper that still has to be felted and sew together my mini sweater. Both patterns are from the Patons Classic Holiday pattern book. The slipper is knit with Patons Classic Wool.

As for my To Knit List
Orange socks - as they are not a Christmas present they are off the list until January
Hemp scarf - will now become my challenge project
Sweater pattern - I did decide on a pattern but have not found the wool yet
Husbands birthday socks - will now become Christmas socks
Moms Christmas socks - have not restarted. Somehow thinking if I wait long enough and recheck the gauge that maybe it will be right on this time.
Hand dyed hat - It is finished!

I am going to drag myself back to the couch and focus on the success of finishing my hat and work on my felted slippers. I'll worry about my ever growing list of knitting to be done tomorrow. Wish me luck!

Getting Organized

This is going to be a great knitting week. I have spent the weekend getting my unread knitting magazines and books ready as well as gathering together some projects to work on. So far my options are:
Finish my orange socks
Finish the hemp scarf
Start Dad's birthday socks
Restart Mom's Christmas socks
Start Husbands birthday sock
Decide on my hemp knitting challenge project
Pick a sweater pattern to knit
Finish the hat I started today

So many projects and lots and lots of knitting time ahead!

p.s. I finished the blue hemp socks

Wow, I can't believe how fast time goes by! Here is an update on what I have been working on. I hate to admit this, but I have broken my own rule and have started new projects before finishing the first ones.

Pink Mitts - They are finished! No picture of them but Mary has them and she likes them, yahoo!

Hemp lace scarf - This project has been on hold while I was knitting other things but is back on today's To Knit List while watching football. It is almost finished. 1 1/2 skeins have been knit. It probably only needs another 1/2 skein. Love the Hemp!

Blue Hemp socks - These socks are samples for the sock class I am currently teaching. I can only go so far on them each week so that is my excuse for needing to dyeing more wool for more mitts.

Marigold Wool - These two skeins of Briggs and Little Regal wool were dyed using the last of the Marigolds. I am not sure if I like the colour. It turned out a mustard colour and even though I love yellows I am not sure about this one. It was to become mitts and and hat. I am tossing around the idea of overdying it with onion skins.

New Socks - This was new yarn bought for Carrie's Quilting and Knitting Shop so of course I have to try it to see how it knits up. So far so good. I am using the new bamboo needles as well. I am finding the bamboo is so much easier on my hands. The wool is On Your Toes with Aloe Vera and I am really liking it. I am liking it so well that not only am I going to knit socks out of it I am going to knit Knee High socks for a most special person on my Christmas list, my Mom.
