Sideways Garter Stitch Sock

Here is my latest sock. A sideways, garter stitch sock knit on straight needles with an afterthough heel using a worsted weight wool.

This picture shows the division for the afterthought heel and the seperate sections for the foot and the leg.

Starting to knit the heel.

Stitches have been picked up and the ribbing knit at the cuff.

Stitches have been picked up and a star toe knit.

A finished sock with a seam up the side.

What a really neat construction! Do you like this way better than the traditional methods?
Your colorway reminds me of a Monet painting! The water lilies one I think.
