We Found It!

Part of last week's Spring Cleaning Challenge was to search for our most out of date unfinished project. We found it!

Thanks to Sarah for sharing her sweater with us! She cast on for this sweater a few years ago using an acrylic yarn in a bright shade of coral. The pattern is a wonderful sampler of lace, bobbles and another textured stitch that we decided looked like Christmas trees! The sweater is very well knit and the pattern would be a wonderful skill building exercise for a new knitter since it does contain so many techniques. The yarn isn't all that bad either if you like the colour orange and you are looking for something machine washable then this acrylic would be for you. Somehow though when it is all put together - orange acrylic with bobbles and textured bumps that of course land right across the chest - just didn't seem to work and actually had one knitter in tears from laughing so hard!

Thanks for being a good sport Sarah!!

Next week's challenge is to recyle an old project that is ready to be thrown away or ripped out and turn it into something other than what it was originally to be. Maybe we will see this sweater front return next week as a purse or a pillow cover

Now that's an unfortunate combination! While it may be effective as a "sampler" of knitting stitches, I don't think it's likely to be flattering. Although, it may work as a safety garment if jogging at night! LOL

That is a lot of detailing for the front. Glad to read it can be salvaged for something else.
I like the color.

It might not be great as a sweater, but the knitting looks perfect and so pretty!
