Today was a busy, busy knitting day and it was so much fun! Caitlyn and I met at East Side Marios for lunch. She had made a stop at a Little Red Mitten to buy yarn for the summer shawl KAL on the way to the restaurant.
So naturally we had to wind it right there in the booth :)
After the yarn winding, eating yummy food (including dessert!) and having a great chat I headed off for an afternoon of knitting with Amanda.
We both spent some time knitting on our socks before decided that we needed to make a trip to Little Red Mitten so I could buy the yarn for the same summer shawl KAL as Caitlyn. I decided on two shades of grey for the Color Me Plaid shawl. Amanda went with the Taygete shawl pattern. Our socks got set aside and two new shawls were cast on. Both patterns start out the same - garter stitch with an increase every 4th row so it is very straightforward knitting for now; then the real fun begins with my slip stitch pattern and her lace border!
