Inspiration Fest!

Last weekend there was a new festival in London, Inspiration Fest, and I'm thrilled to have been a part of it!

For those of you who know me, you know that I love to share my passion for knitting and that I also love to give things away :)  So when I was invited to take part in Inspiration Fest I jumped at the chance to spend the day outside, meeting new friends and creating new Knitters.

It was an amazing day!

couples stopped by to learn to knit,

families learned to knit,

friends learned to knit,

a Mom and her son came out to knit

my brother learned to knit

more kids stopped by to knit

Experienced Knitters and new Knitters all knit together and inspired one another.
It truly was an inspiring day!

We discussed the pros and cons of heel flaps vs the fish lips kiss heel (the one on the right).  Our conclusion - Knitter's preference, go with what you like.

And we can't forget the give away.  This beautiful skein of sock yarn hand dyed by Lichen and Lace in New Brunswick was up for grabs.  It was generously donated by Suzanne from Knit Stitch one of our local yarn shops.

Thanks so much to all the Knitters who stopped by to chat and knit, you made this a wonderful day.  Heather, from the The Social Beehive is the woman behind Inspiration Fest.  Thanks for having the vision of this festival and pulling out all the stops to make it happen. You are amazing!

Beach Knitting!

This past weekend was the Knitting Goddesses annual beach knitting day.  This is always such a fun day. We all met up for lunch and most of us stayed until sunset. The weather wasn't your typical beach going weather but that didn't stop us seasoned beach knitters!  We started out the day in tank tops and shorts and quickly started layering on warmer clothes as the sun disappeared and the wind and rain moved in.

The sun showed up again and a few of us decided it was ice cream time :)

I started and finished my hat using my handspun yarn.  Who knew I'd want to wear it in July!
