Woodstock Fleece Festival 2017

Another fleece festival has come and gone and girls was this one fun!

Not only did we shop, we (the Fibre Friends and the Codependent Knitters) hosted a tailgate party at lunch time and were able to meet some online friends in person!  The rainy weather cleared long enough for us to sit, knit, chat and re-energize for round two of shopping.

I was all about Angora this year and I truly had to stop myself from buying a rabbit.  Instead I came home with some Classic Bunny a 60% merino 40% angora blend.  It is SO soft.  Caroline found me some Angora fibre that I could not pass up, again so so soft.  I also bought two skeins of 100% wool from a local Ontario sheep farm, Circle R Livestock that I can't wait to knit with.  I had initially been thinking of making a scarf with this wool but a new friend Elise suggested a hat and mitts and  that idea seems to have stuck so a hat it will be.  A bag of Shetland fleece rounded out my purchases.

For you spinners out there, what is Angora like to spin?  Do I have a challenge ahead of me?

When Podcasters Get Together

Friday was a fabulous day. I really don't think it could have been better.

Caroline, Adrienne and I took a little road trip to Sarnia to meet up with Dawn and Lisa, the Codependent knitters, for a day filled with what Knitters do best.....yarn shopping, lunch and knitting.

It was great to have the real Caroline with us this time.  Ipad Caroline was lots of fun but nothing beats Caroline in person.

We visited Feather Your Nest which resulted in some yarn for a new project I'm thinking about designing, followed by lunch at Burger Rebellion and Refined Fool for THE best lentil burger EVER.  Then it was off to Heaven Is Handmade were I found some cute buttons and we ended our day at a lovely cafe where we indulged in some desserts and spent time knitting.

The weather had been a little rainy and on our way to lunch we had to run for cover from a torrential down pour.  Five knitters with bags of yarn all squeezed under the roof of a store was a sight to see I'm sure!

But on the drive home there was a beautiful rainbow; it was the perfect ending to a great day.

I hope everyone else had a fun filled weekend too!
